On July 24, 2011, I will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Sacramento River Cats baseball game. The River Cats are the Triple-A minor league affiliate for the Oakland A's.
I have been told they don't let people throw the first pitch from the actual pitchers' mound anymore, but I am going to beg and hope they let me anyway. If not, I will pretend I don't understand English and keep walking to the mound.
I played little league for eight years and was a pitcher for two of those years so the chance to throw out the first pitch is pretty exciting for me. I just hope I don't goof it up.... like these guys for example...
'
I have joked that I could throw the ball over the backstop screen or turn around and pickoff an invisible runner at 2nd base while throwing the ball into center field. I thought maybe doing something as crazy as this might land me a chance at Web Redemption on Tosh.0
I do know a lot of the players will be watching me throw the first pitch though (in fact, one will most likely be catching my pitch) so I'd like to make a good impression in that sense.
I know I can do better than these guys....
Time to start practicing more and get ready for Sunday.
Who knows, maybe a scout will spot me.

Watching all of this just adds even more pressure, It seems like most people throw straight to the ground or float one over. You better start practicing dude.
