Thanks to Lisa at dotlaunch.com and her help re-designing the website, www.weshofmann.com is now live! Don't worry, you can still access the page by going to www.wesjoke.com as well!
There are only a few minor tweaks that still need to be made, but I am very pleased with the outcome of the new site. What do you think?
I have to admit, I am extremely tired right now, but I wanted to let you know about last night's show at Katie Bloom's in Campbell. The show (an open mic that is pre-booked) was supposed to start at 9pm. However, the San Jose Sharks playoff game was on last night so we waited until the game was over before we started the show.
I was asked by the people at Clownshoe Entertainment - who put together the show - if I would be interested in being the host/emcee for the night. I said no problem.
Well, the show ended up having something like 16 comedians performing and I didn't get out of there until 12:30 this morning. But I looked in the crowd and I noticed that some of them had been there the entire time and so I was going to stick around with them.
It is a bar setting and those are always tough especially for the host, but I feel I was able to capture their attention at the beginning. One comic even told me after I opened the show that I commanded their attention like Barak Obama! Haha, nice! I also made an NCAA Tournament Bracket like Obama.... we are so brothers.
The Sharks lost their playoff game so they are done for the year. A lot of people there in the crowd were sad, but comedians had a fun time messing with them anyway. I simply said, "Don't worry about it, we're not in Canada."
Anyway, it is back out again tomorrow night at The Gaslighter in Gilroy and then on Thursday night at the Morgan Hill Playhouse. I am looking forward to it. Kenny Kane is headlining both nights. Beth Schumann and Jim Panetta will also be performing.
Come on out if you can!
